GIVE US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR CAREER.
I started in Retail Operations and Store Management in 1983 at Farm Fresh Supermarkets in Norfolk, VA. After 6 years I moved on to Giant Food Stores in Carlisle, PA. After 3 years in the stores with Giant, I moved into Merchandising as a Buyer, then Category Manager, and finally Director of Micromarketing. I left Giant in 2004 to work for Spectra Marketing and Nielsen Consumer Panel Services where I spent 6 years, before joining EYC as the VP of Category Management on the Ahold Client team in 2010. In 2012, I returned to Ahold for 3 years before joining Weis Markets in February 2016.

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BE PART OF SIMA?
I enjoy the best practice sharing and learning about not only the successes, but the learnings around projects that did not turn out as expected.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THE SIMA BOARD?
I want to be a contributor to building success among both retailers and the supporting supplier community.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?  Career or personal or both.
I have enjoyed the opportunities that the industry has afforded me, including a family with 3 successful kids that make a difference in what they have taken on.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE SHOPPER INSIGHTS DISCIPLINE GOING FORWARD AND WHY?
Collaboration among retailers, suppliers, technology providers, etc. in making a difference with our mutual customers that shop in our stores.
