GIVE US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR CAREER:
I started my retail career at Walmart working to develop a store-specific planogram generator. Then I worked in our Emerging Formats area that developed several new store formats and vastly expanded our Neighborhood Market footprint by 8x. Ultimately, I transitioned into supporting the business as an internal category advisor and have been working in our Modular Development & Category Space area ever since. All my Walmart experience has been in Food and Consumables categories.

WHY YOU’RE EXCITED TO BE PART OF THE CMA?
CMA is such a great asset for category advisors that I want to help provide input on the future direction of the organization so it can be even more of an asset for advisors to lean on going forward.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THE CMA BOARD?
I hope to provide direction from a retailer’s perspective to help our advisors proactively provide a baseline of timely information across categories to help drive consistency and continuously add value.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?  Career or personal or both.
From a career perspective, I am most proud of helping stand up the Modular & Space Development team within Walmart.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE CATMAN DISCIPLINE GOING FORWARD AND WHY?
The most important thing that needs to be addressed in the CatMan discipline going forward is shifting the mindset from providing value from primarily a brick-and-mortar perspective to providing value across the modes the customer chooses to shop. This omnichannel mindset will provide clarity and growth and should be the lens that we are all looking through in retail.
