GIVE US A BRIEF HISTORY OF YOUR CAREER.
Upon graduation from University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Quantitative Economics and Decision Science, I joined Quaker Oats.  I worked 5 years at Quaker Oats in various sales positions across the West Coast.  I left Quaker and worked at James River (Georgia Pacific) for the next 1 ½ years.  Campbell Soup was my next calling where I spent 8 years in Sales Leadership, Broker Management, Category Management and Sales lead at Target.  I have now been with Kellogg for 15 years with roles in Category Strategy, leading Kashi Sales and Commercial Strategy and now in my current role as Vice President of Category Management.

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BE PART OF THE CMA?
I am so excited to be part of CMA so that we can push to shape the future of Category Management and drive solutions with our retail partners in the evolving retail industry.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THE CMA BOARD?
I would really like to push the envelope in terms of the scope of category management and the engagement we have with our retailers to ensure a push toward long-term strategic actions for the manufacturer and retailer.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?  (Career, personal or both.)
I am most proud of being named vendor of the year at Target while I led the Kashi business for Kellogg.  The work we did on Kashi and Kellogg was best in class and recognized by the retailer.  Personally, seeing my twin 11 year old boys continue to learn and grow. They are the biggest blessing in my life along with my amazing husband, Ruben.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE CATMAN DISCIPLINE GOING FORWARD AND WHY?
I really believe we are at a crossroads of determining how to win profitably in brick and mortar and the digital space. Category Management will be at the crux of developing solutions for the retailer to be successful in the future.
