Description

Dollar Stores, once the domain of close-outs and off brands, is fast becoming a mainstream shopping channel for a large swath of the U.S. population.  Major retailers in this channel are increasingly acting like traditional grocery players, but in a smaller, more convenient, and less expensive format.  These retailers may hold significant growth opportunities for their CPG partners.  Consider:

  • Consumables are a majority of sales at the “big three” Dollar Store retailers (nearly 80% at Dollar General).
  • Grocery is the biggest (and fastest growing) category, followed closely by Personal Care, Beauty, and Home Goods.
  • This is not the land of Private Label. National brands account for half of sales and growing.  And shoppers say they want more of them.
  • The in-store and digital experience remain an opportunity at Dollar Stores, both potential areas for collaboration and innovation.
  • The outlook for Dollar Stores is robust, and worth considering in any CPG manufacturer’s go-to-market plans, now and in the future.

Come to this webinar feeling challenged, and leave feeling invigorated about what’s possible.
